In accordance with Public Law 101-542 Title IV, Minnesota State University, Mankato provides the following crime statistics to University students, employees, and others upon request. These statistics follow the uniform crime-reporting procedures of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Crime statistics are published annually and cover the three previous calendar years. Additional information regarding these statistics is available from Security.
All statistics are those violations that would constitute a violation of law and represent the number of incidents reported by calendar year January 1-December 31. Per federal law, statistics are reported by location. Official definitions of listed offences are in accordance with the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program. In 1998 federal law was changed and now requires that crime statistics be reported by location and by calendar year (January 1- December 31).
