Interim Vice President of Strategic Business, Education and Regional Partnerships
In addition to his role as the University's Chief Information Officer, Mark is currently serving a dual-role as the Interim Vice President for Strategic Partnerships.
Mark joined Minnesota State University, Mankato in March 2016 as the Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer, a position he also held from January 2000 - June 2006 and on an Interim basis from August 2010-July 2011.
Mark has presented on many IT topics throughout the world and is a leader in areas of IT strategy, project management and operational excellence.
Prior to joining Minnesota State Mankato he was the President of Impact Group Technology Solutions, an IT consulting company, where he negotiated the purchase of and turnaround of that company.
Mark spent 4 years (June 2006 - July 2010) in the United Arab Emirates as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Higher Colleges of Technology (the largest college system in that country) and served as the President of the Fujairah Women's College and the Fujairah Men's College. He was the Chief Information Officer for Brown Printing Company (part of the global media company Bertelsmann) from 1989-2000. Mark was a IT manager for General Mills Inc. in both Minnesota and California from 1978-1989.

Valerie joins the Strategic Partnership Division with over 20 years of experience at MSU Mankato having spent time in the College of Education, Technology Division and Alumni Relations & Special Events. In addition, Valerie spent ten years in the private sector working in the Engineering Division of Reserve Mining Company and Coordinator of the Silver Bay Community Resource Center. Valerie’s unique and diverse experience will be an asset to both the Division and its Partners. Valerie understands the value of customer relationships, service excellence and follow through. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team.
Valerie has a solid commitment to integrity and excellence and appreciates the challenge of playing a significant role within the division. She has completed the MSU Mankato Leadership Institute as well as other leadership conferences and was a co-chair/member of the Great Place To Work Committee for several years. Valerie is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women. She has been asked to speak by the President’s Commission on the Status of Women In Leadership panel discussions on Professional Development Day and also recognized as a “Woman of “Courage and Vision”. Valerie is also actively involved with her local union as a leader advocating and mentoring other MSU staff.
