Minnesota State University, Mankato has several grant options available.  These are all funds based on financial need and do not require repayment.

Federal Pell Grant

This grant is funded through the Federal Government and is meant to assist in meeting the cost of post-secondary institutions. 

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

This grant is funded through the Federal Government and is awarded on a first-come first serve basis.   

Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant

For students who plan to teach in designated math, science, special education, language, and other high-need subject fields. 

MN State Grant

This grant is funded through the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and is meant to assist in meeting the cost of Minnesota public and private post-secondary institutions. 

MN Post-Secondary Child Care Grant

Minnesota’s student population includes many parents who need affordable, quality child care in order to continue their education at a college or university. 

MN Public Safety Officer's Survivor Grant

Provides an educational benefit to dependent children under age 23 (age extended to 30 for those who served on active military duty for at least 181 consecutive days and were honorably discharged or released) and the spouses of public safety officers killed in the line of duty.

MN Teacher Candidate Grant

Provides postsecondary financial assistance to eligible students enrolled in Minnesota teacher preparation programs duringĀ oneĀ term in which the student is completing a required 12-week or more student teaching experience. Fillable PDF form.
